hi i am jomon from cohin, india. i too have the same problem. i thought i am missing some supporting files. actually my messenger application was working properly. but one evening when i tried to open it it just won't come up. it is being displayed in the task manger. but it is not working. when i tried to uninstall it, it displayed a message that one log file is missing. i used "revo uninstaller". but it couldn't. then i used the same program to remove all registry entries of yahoo messenger and after a restart, reinstalled yahoo messenger. all went smoothlt till 97%. then it slowed sown. and after reaching 99% after some time it just stood there. all animations during the installation was being displayed even at this stage. i repeated the "revo procedure" one more time, but the situation remains the same. i am trying the old version. but am not sure whether it will work as it is an online installation.
Ok jomon i think there is some network or antivirus problem in your system ...

before installing this make sure you have uninstalled previous yahoo version.
